Powargrid is a strategic turn based game. You can play the latest alpha build here.
In the current build, you can play the first seven campaign missions. The first five missions also act as a tutorial. It has a skirmish mode (against the computer) as well as multiplayer. We're working on more missions, more features and we're polishing the game in general. Follow us on Twitter if you want to hear about new releases.

Powargrid Rules
The standard objective of Powargrid is to destroy your opponents' power plants. You do so by placing buildings on the game grid, some of which can shoot, obviously. The pieces you have are:
Power Line

This is your standard building. It transports power and nothing else. You can build other buildings on top of power lines. They cost you 10 power and have two hitpoints.
Power Plant

Generates the power you need to build. It starts off slowly, but will eventually generate 50 power per turn. It has four hitpoints and building an additional power plant costs you 90 power. If you lose your power plants, you lose the game. By double clicking your power plant, you can overcharge it. This makes it generate extra power, but will damage it as well. You can't stop overcharge once it is on.
Substation

Stores any power you have left at the end of your turn, up to a maximum of 40. It costs 40 power to build and has three hitpoints.
Shockwave Tower

Fires a shockwave around itself that damages enemy buildings. You can see its range when you build it. It can be charged twice; the first charge, which fires after your turn, costs 20 power and the second charge, which fires after your opponent's turn, costs 40. Towers have four hit points and cost 50 power to build.
Lightning Cannon

Shoots lightning in one direction, but has a longer reach than the tower. You choose the direction with your mousewheel when you place it. A lightning gun can be charged once, for 20 power, and fires after your turn. It has three hitpoints and costs 50 power to build.
Now you know these five buildings, there is a little more left to tell you about. First, you can only build where you have power. All power sources (power plants and substations) are connected. So you have power wherever you have one of those.
Building costs increase the farther away you build from a power source. On the first and second tiles, there is no penalty, but for each tile beyond that, your build costs go up by ten percent per tile. This also applies to charge costs.
